“Personal injury” is a very general, broad category of civil claims and law suits. It generally refers to people who suffer physical and/or mental injury due to another’s negligence. It can also include loss of income, loss of the ability to pursue one’s hobbies, the cost of medical bills, the loss of a loved-one’s companionship and support, etc. The law allows compensation for these elements, when liability (fault) is properly placed on a negligent person or entity.
